quick one for anyone who can help re 4.1 softmod install

do i have to do step HBC 1.0.3 & BOOTMII INSTALL if i have homebrew channel install already to play n64 and snes roms?

is it better to uninstall and do exactly as step by step in instructions? Can the homebrew channel be uninstalled?

Also if I softmod my wii will it effect the modchip i ordered when it arrives?

I have a modchip and a usb hard drive full of games ordered but only the hd looks like its gonna be here before christmas.

Please help.
