I keep getting error messages with brawl

I used bannerbomb on my wii, which is awesome now that I've got homebrew. But now when I play a burned copy of brawl every time I finish a classic single player with any character I get the message "Unable to read from disc, please eject disc from console and power off the system."

I can eject the disc but can't turn it off if that means anything.

Any help with this would be appreciated. This is with the us version dual layer by the way.
