well, "something like" is not exactly like. If you want help, please be more specific. Typically an error .001 means "unauthorized device found". I.E. that means you probably have a WiiKey or some other installed chip for playing burned games. If that is indeed the case, then you need to update your modchip device with the latest firmware to reslove the issue.

I'm getting the same error. I have a wiikey2, but it should have the latest firmware.

[insert something witty and creative]

I agree that specifics are good. Say specifically everything that is going on.

When you say you are "upgrading" to Rev14, people will assume that you had a previous cIOS revision.
Which previous cIOS revision are you upgrading from?
Are you using a wad to install the cIOS or are you using the installers that are available from Waninkoko's website? http://teknoconsolas.tv/wanin/cIOS38_rev14-Installer.zip
Since you got the ret=-1 error I am assuming that it's a wad but I as well as anyone else who is reading definitely wants to be sure.
Maybe you are using an installer but trying to do the wad method instead of the network method. Who knows? except for you.

More then likely you are selecting WAD Install when running the installer and don't have the IOS38-64-v3610.wad at the root of the SD card. So it is not finding the WAD file to install the cIOS.

If your going to do the WAD Install then google and download IOS38-64-v3610.wad. Place it at the root of the SD card. Then re-run the installer using the WAD install method.

If you have a WiFi connection you can change the install method from WAD Install to Network Install by pressing the right D-Pad 1 time. This will download the IOS38-64-v3610 from the Nintendo servers (so no WAD is needed at the root since it will get it from the Nintendo servers).
