IOS 15 Gone and cant load TBR

So in a neverending quest to get my back up loader working; see here http://www.wiihacks.com/showthread.php?p=300011#post300011 -- I started the first steps on the 4.1u softmod guide for the TBR downgraded 15, when i tried to install IOS36 it said my version was too new, so i went into DOP IOS and downgraded 36....and after that NOTHING works i cant load my TBR, DOP IOS, HOMEBREW, WAD MANAGER, nothing...
My only idea is to upgrade to 4.2 and re-softmod (i have gotten on NAY so far). I know i have a thread open on another website, i would just like to get as many inputs as possible on this. Any help would be so GREATLY appreciated....especially since my wife is very pissed at me b/c she can not use the wii :o and i look like a dummy! (maybe i am)

Update to 4.2 firmware and follow the 4.2 firmware guide in my sig.

Okay and thats what i have been thinking, i've used your 4.2 guide to do my brothers wii works perfectly.
So you think it WILL be safe to go 4.2 then re-softmod. Just want to make sure so i dont destroy the wii.

First of all THANK YOU! That got me back up and running! --BUT-- I'm still having trouble loading some games off the usb loader i just dont get it / some are good / some aren't and like i said these games were working at one point...now that it's a fresh mod any ideas?
EDIT: and they start off like they work , i get the wrist strap warning and then ..... either freeze, white screen, or black screen (depending on the game) and i have to do a hard reset

After a bunch of reading i've came to the conclusion that transferring the files on and off my HDD with WBFS is corrupting them. Now if only there was a way to fix them........

Are you sure about this? Could it be that the ISOs are corrupted to begin with?

they were working just fine before ... it's really all i can come up with after re-soft modding and they still dont work. 2 of the games i beat all the way through, so i know for sure they were good. just cant come up with any other ideas.
