Hello all. I'm hoping somebody can provide me some additonal guidance. Can anyone tell me if IOS60Patched.wad is required for neogamma v7 to function properly. I have wii 4.0u and I also have cios38 rev14 installed. I can launch neaogamma from Homebrew channel with the sd card in, but when I try and launch neogamma from it's backup channel, I get a blank black screen and the system freezes.

Additional info:
I've followed the steps in Larry's published softmod guide, all except Hermes' IOS 222/223 and IOS60Patched. Not sure why lauching neogamma channel is locking up system. Any help appreciated.

Yes you do need to patch with that wad if you wii is on 4.0.
Larry has a new guide to mod system 4.2 which you should probably do anyways. You are going to have to update your system sooner or later and might as well do it now. Guide has many of the same steps. Good luck

You only need to patchIOS60 on 4.0 and 4.1 systems if you want to play installed WAD VC/WiiWare games off the SD card.

This should not effect NeoGamma.

I would uninstall the NeoGamma channel then try reinstalling it and see if that helps.

Also try reinstalling cIOS38_rev14 again.

Thanks Larry. I will give it shot. When I installed Cios rev14, I installed from SD. Would it make any difference if I installed from network?

I wasn't planning on playing from my SD, so I wanted to hold off installing ios60patch. I just want to play from backup discs. Thanks again.

Doesn't matter which you do. WAD means it gets the content it needs from a WAD file on your SD card. Network means it uses WiFi to download the content it needs.
