Is it possible to unmod a wii?

Hey guys,

I have a wii that I have seriously not plugged in in over a year and I had homebrew installed on it. Since I am so far out of the loop, is it possible to remove the homebrew and restore the wii back to its original state?

If you really want to remove everything then just update it. That will remove pretty much everything. Then follow any of the 4.3 softmod guides to re-softmod it.

Of course the easier way is to just update your homebrew channel, apps and cIOS's.

Format the system memory and it will return it to factory settings and remove everything

Will this restore the NAND and everyting? Im not totally sure If I finished modding my Wii, and I kinda wanna do a fresh softmod from a pretty much stock system.

Formatting system memory will not return everything to factory. It will just delete homebrew channels that you had installed to the system channel menu.

If you want all of it gone then do as penguin98 stated and update to latest firmware.

For me formating the Wii System memory returned it to normal but on the same firmware i had to re add all the cIOS i added which is what i wanted to do

Formatting the system memory does not delete cIOS/Bootmii/Priiloader from the system. So formatting it does not bring it back to factory state. All it will delete is added channels to the channel menu and game saves.
