My wii is modded with a pic chip that has WiiFree on it (I know wiifree is ancient) and I was wondering if an online update would prevent the chip from working. I haven't kept up with the wii scene for ages and it seems as though all the online resources for wiifree have disappeared which is why I'm making this thread.

I updated my Wii to 4.3 and the chip still works. I was able to play backups of newer games.
