Easy as pie!

Working great.

One question though. In the setup menu, there's an option for "Update Blocker". What does this mean and should it be enabled or disabled?

It would block disc updates so you couldnt update with an out of region game and brick your wii. So yeah you should enable it and only do network updates if you wanna update.

So, to clarify, doing updates with the Wii itself (using the network) is okay, but not with using a game disc of a different region?

So, the following are acceptable:

Update with Wii network
or
Update with same region game disc

Am I correct?
