/hi. new to the forums. got my wii new 6yrs ago? and had it hard modded with a chip so i could play my games i backed up. my kids keep scratching the originals and it was getting VERY expensive to replace them. now..i want to connect to netflix thru my wii but read about the dangers of system updates with a modded wii. do i have to update just to dl the netflix app? is there another way to do this?

Yes

Get modmii, run the program on your PC

Follow the guide to softmod your wii, if you want to change nothing on the wii, when installing WADS, just install the new Shop channel WAD
