So I have a modded wii with the D2Pro9 chip in it. All was fine until I recently updated the Wii system software to 4.2 (Should I have done that?). Now most of my backed up games come up with some form of disc error. The games will load, but the error will come up after playing for a bit (or after selecting a menu option).

Example of an error is:

"An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button, remove the Game Disc, and turn off the power to the console. Please read the Wii Operations Manual for further instructions."

...others saying something along the lines of the disc cannot be read.

The original games that were purchased seem to work okay.

Any idea of what's happening?

^ Wow, the one who thoughtt you to make jokes should give you your money back, like, right now.

Anyway, I have the same issue. But I got an external HDD, and while writting this, I'm installing Castlevania Judgement on it. =] It kinda solves the problem.

But, it's either the laser, or the chip itself. It's exactly the same with me. I'll take it to my nearest shop to fix it, but 'till then, this is good.

The only thing you can do is get an external hard drive and run backed up games from it, or get it fixed.

You either die as a hero,or you live long enough to see yourself become a villain...

Actually, it's been happening with games that have worked before like Warioware, Mario kart. It just started happening after the update to 4.2. Is there something else that needs to be done after updating the Wii firmware?

I'm not too familiar with how games are loaded off a hard drive. I don't mind the disc-based loads, as long as it works.
