hey guys. Please dont grill me if this question has allready been asked. I have looked thor the forum best i can but i got work in half hour and ai`nt got time to go thro it all.

My daughters wii was sent away last christmas and as far as i am aware it was chipped, dont know what with or how he did it, just know it cost £30. My daughter recently asked me to get her the new super mario bros game, i got it and copied it on good media with imgburn and 2 and 4 speed but when inserted into the wii it comes up saying system files corrupted please restart console. After reading a bit of the forum i think it maybe because the chip or something is old. I was going to look into doing a firmware upgrade but i dont know what firmware the wii has. I only started modding comsoles myself about 6 months ago but then i only do xbox 360`s. I wanna learn to do wii`s mind. Can someone direct me to a post where this is covered or can someone here tell me how to proceed??

I did see a post here about updating to firmware 4.1 but i am worried this might not work or even brick the wii cause it has allready been chipped??

The 'System files corrupted' error is common with NSMB. When released, the game crashed randomly on all modchips. The patch was released which fixed it for most, but some people get the error you described when they insert the patched disk.

I know at least 1 modchip has released an update to fix this, but for most users the only solution is to has been to install some homebrew. There is also no way to check what modchip you have without opening up the console.

You should be able to boot the game through neogamma without issue, and usb loaders are great as well.

This guide will walk you through the process of installing what you need.
