Hello. I'm looking for a way to play video files from an SD card, so I don't have to use discs.

I would prefer a homebrew app that could do it, because I already tried the Wii Video 9 application, and that converted my videos to be like 4-5GB in size, and I only have a 2GB SD card.

Is there an app that does this? Thanks.

Hey, thanks. So with that app, I can just put movies on an SD Card without conversion, and play them instantly?

Depends on what type of video format the videos are in. I know it plays Xvid/DivX format.

I don't think it will play .mkv but you could always try. The .mkv is used mainly for High Definition video. There is not allot of homebrew applications that play Xvid files let alone .mkv files. There might be something out there that I don't know about. But until someone comes along and gives you that homebrew application your best bet is to find the video in Xvid format and stay away from .mkv files.

Actually I just noticed MPlayerWii supposedly plays .mkv files. You can read more HERE.
