i have a chipped wii i got a burned copy of dance sensation and it asked me to update the update started but it failed then i connected to the internet to update from there it also failed how can i update my wii to play this game thanks fore your help everybody
Do you have preloader/priiloader installed? The custom hacks may be blocking updates. When you turn on the wii, hold down the reset button & if a menu appears instead of the system menu, you have priioader installed.

Thanks for responding but I dont have a preloader installed i held the reset button down and the system menu came up do you have any other sugestions

I have to agree with the guys at wiihacks, you can get custom apps to bypass updates, but I have also thought of four other options you could try without softmodding:
1) Remove the update partition from the iso on your pc (must be a pc), using WiiScrubber or BrickBlocker. It's a complicated process (even I don't know how to do it).
2) Some modshops will sell GeckoOS on a micro sd card. This is useful because it can be used without softmodding completely.
3) You can use a in-game homebrew exploit (Such as Smash Stack or Indiana Pwns) to try to run WAD Manager & install GeckoOS or the IOS the game needs (unknown) without having to softmod.
4) You update to a higher version like 4.1 via another disc. (I don't know if Dance Sensation has a 4.1 update or higher, but 4.1 is the last safe update that won't affect your modchip).
I don't think your modchip is causing this problem I think the iso may be damaged causing the update to fail.
