NBA Jam Wii

I've bought NBA Jam awhile ago. It has an system update on it. Is it safe to run the update/ important? My wii is 4.2U. Thanks.

It really depends on what kind of mod you are using. Are you using a Modchip or The Homebrew Channel? Usually updates are important because they install the IOS the game needs to run properly, otherwise they won't run.

There are three ways of fixing/bypassing this, all options except the third require softmods:

1) Use GeckoOS to try & launch the game without needing to update. This option doesn't always work.
2) Use your PC to find out what IOS the game needs & then install it's WAD file using WAD Manager. Normally you don't need to find out what the IOS is, but since NBA Jam is a new release, no one knows what IOS it uses yet. This is a very reliable but lengthy process.
3) Update to 4.3 & re-softmod if necessary.
