need help! formating HDD to WBFS

I got a softmodded 4.2u wii and i got a external 500gb wd hard drive when i try to format it to WBFS i get a error "An error occurred while attempting to format the drive". So i split the drive in to two partitions and formatted it to fat32 then formatted it to WBFS When i load the games and then load it to the wii i get another error "failed to open WBFS Drive" or no WFBS drive located. can any body tell me what im i doing wrong???

Hook the drive up to your pc and format it to fat32 . Update your cios249 to rev19 and update you ConfigurableUSBLoader . With rev19 you can use fat32 instead of wbfs . Also some drives are not compatible and this may be the reason you are getting the errors .

Good drive to use is western digital, I haven't had a problem with it yet.
