OK, first of all I don't mind reading up and learning about everything and how everything works but I don't know what I have to begin with. All of this is new to me.

I just bought a Wii that was modded. On the main screen I have the following (that look new to me):

Homebrew
Backup Launcher
Check Mii Out Channel
Wii Loaded
Internet

Can someone help me out with what I have an point me in the right direction to which the best way to make backups are. I can read the tutorials and go that route if I know what I have. I plan on getting an external hard drive and other than that I'm not sure if I'll need anything else.

Thoughts?

Homebrew Channel is what allows you to run homebrew. Its best described as a launcher. Backup Launcher is pretty much what it says, its a backup launcher. Check Mii out is where you create your Mii characters and share them. Internet, self explanatory. Best way to make backups is to rip them yourself on your wii using USB Loader GX, which is also great at launching backup games via USB. You might also want to see what CIOS came installed with your Wii. The latest CIOS38 is rev 17 and the latest CIOS222/223 is version 4. Head to Wiihacks for more guides and info. You can also checkout wiibrew.
