Really hoping someone on here can help me. As far as being a girl goes I'm generally quite good with the whole downloading thing...But my drive key is due to arrive tomorrow (installation looks relatively simple - but ask me again when it arrives) and I have been downloading games for the past few days in preparation for it's arrival.
I'm sure there is already a thread somewhere on here with all of the answers, but with so much to fit in during the next 2 days I'm hoping someone will come to my rescue. Have transferred the files from vuze to a new folder....but when I go to extract them (winrar) it's saying there is not enough space on the disc and is erroring. Obviously this is before I have even got as far as trying to burn them to disc.
I've also just found out that my convertX is having problems opening files (whilst trying to convert a film), so am just running a full scan in case there is anything nasty on there. But basically at the moment all I really need to know is what to do to make the files extract properly, and then what to do to get them on disc.
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to reply, it's a bit hectic here but I'll reply as soon as I can, and any help you can offer will be much appreciated - trust me unlimited wii games will make 3 small children very happy :-)
Happy Christmas!!!

The 'not enough space' error is probably caused by your filesystem. FAT32 cant handle files larger than 4 gigs. You need NTFS format to handle wii isos.
I cant really help with your convertX problem. I assume the program is convertxtodvd. I use it for burning movies and its usually pretty bulletproof.
But in this case it doesn't really matter since it won't burn wii games. Download and install imgburn (its free) and use that. Remember to use good quality media DVD-R if possible and burn at 4x.

sounds to me like you have to much stuff on your hard drive, try clicking on my computer and hold your cursor over C: drive and see how much free space you have. if you are trying to unpack a 4.5 gig file and you only have 3 gig of available space its not going to do it. you may have to delete some files and make room for it to unpack. as you burn the game to disc delete it so you will create more room. and as stated above use image burn its free and works every time. burn at a slow speed 4x works very good with wii games.

Actually, peluynati, you need almost 9 gigs free to unrar a wii game. As far as I know, all rar/zip type programs uncompress the file to a temp folder, then copy it to it's destination before deleting the temp one. So for a short time, you have 2 copies of the game on your computer and need room for both.
Thanks for making me remember that. I didn't mention file space at first because I figured that she would have checked that already and had enough space free, but she probably wouldnt know that you need double that space to unrar the file.

Hi all
Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Turns out that along with all these games came some particularly nasty malware so am in the process of restarting. I've just checked and to start with I only had 5 gb free, but have deleted files and am now up to 13. When it's restarted I will try extracting again, if it works brilliant, if not I assume that I am stuck with the fat32 problem. I'm hoping this can be bypassed by transferring the games one by one onto a pendrive and then using my laptop to extract and burn.... Does anyone have a link to a reliable winrar please? I only use the pc for downloading simply because it took me so long to get a working copy of this in the first place.
Once again many thanks for all your help :-)

If you go to 'my computer,' double click on the C drive to open up the root directory, then right click on the window and hit properties it will say what your filesystem is.
I use 7-Zip for my compressed files. http://www.7-zip.org/
And here's a link for imgburn if you need it too. http://www.imgburn.com/

Thank you so much, I've just downloaded both and have borrowed my Dad's external hard drive to move the games from PC to laptop. Just about to get the kids in bed and get started....sure I'll get stuck at some point, but it's great to know that so many people know what they are doing and are on hand to help :-)

Just wanted to say a big thank you, have done everything as instructed and hopefully when the drive key arrives I'll be fully in action. Any ideas of what the list of things I'm not supposed to do with my wii are when the drive key is fitted? Wouldn't want anything nasty happening to it....

OK have my first game burnt. and have the drive key inserted. Wii is back on, but then when I turn the wii on with the game in the only option it is giving me is to do a software update - do I do it? sorry for sounding dim but obviously don't want to do anything without being told to first. Thanks again!

So long as the game is from the same region as your wii it is safe to update.

Even though the next message says "IMPORTANT: If you do not wish to accept this upgrade, you can shut down your Wii console (by holding down the power button for four (4) seconds and abort the upgrade. If you wii console has an unauthoriszed technical modification, this upgrade could cause inoperability of your comsole"? Or am I just panicing?
