ok im a total noob here.i am trying to fix my wii.i bought it yesterday and it was playing games perfect.its a japanese model so i dont understand the menus.its unmodded and im in ireland.i updated the wii to 4.2j and ever since then none of the games work.all i get is a question mark when i go into the game loading screen.is there any way of fixing this.maybe removing the update if possible i am really frustrated with this now and would really appreciate any help thanks very much

If it was unmodded then you were playing original japanese import games? An un-modded j wii will only play original j games. If your games were in english or any other language besides japanese then you weren't playing japanese games.

4.2 blocks the ability to play out-of-region games through the disk channel. Your only option is to install a softmod and play your games through neogamma or a USB loader. I would not advise downgrading as more people have bricked their wii's trying to downgrade or region change than anything else.

i havn tried any pal games just the ones dat came with it ad they are ntsc.they worked perfect before but wen i updated just wont play them any more cheers

the games load up in english and play in english but wii main menus are in japanese games are originals ntsc

All you need to do is install HBC and use Gecko OS to load the Import games.
