Hello I'm pretty much a newbie at the whole modchip scene. I have read in many forums how people are having problems with there hard modded systems playing the New Super Mario Bros. I went to download a new configuration for my Wiikey v2 off there website and for a week now it has said "Coming Soon." By chance does anyone know how long this process takes or are all of us Wiikey users left in the dark until they finally shot us an update? One last question also will it effect my Wii in anyway if I were to run the update and give this game a chance? I read where people are having to use Homebrew Channels and neogammas. All that stuff is over my head I wouldn't know where to begin. Is there an easier way around this? Please Help!

Yes, I am looking for exactly the same. I can't find any hints how to run nsmb game. I have read that either there will be new chip to support new protection (wiikey team tend to make new stuff people talk...) or eventually firmware update.

Please let us know if you find something more on wiikey2 and nsmb.

yes, you r a newbie, if you read carefully, myou read this "For downloads and resources for Wiikey 2, please see the legacy product support section" is it so hard.....and for the notice there is still no update, and to give you an advice, don't homebrew, you'll have to read more then only the download section....

MarioAss,

I don't have problem reading nor searching... I don't see any resources around on wiikey2 nor Legacy support.

What article are you refering to ?

I tried homebrew, but I don't want soft mods. I currently have some success there, but as I said, I want to try hardware option if possible.

Thanks.

PS:
It's hard to understand your sentences. Could you please be more clear and constructive, less offensive or cool, it sounds silly...

This goes out to the edited by ddp under the name "marioass" people like you really piss me off. I'm tired of you strokes who amazingly rig your systems and then think now your better then other people. I'll admit "yeah this is my first time modding a Nintendo Wii system and running into issues." You know we ask a simple question and people like you wanna be a edited by ddp and bash on people. FYI your name says "Newbie" also edited by ddp... We're not asking these questions for you to try to prove your knowledgeable because in reality we really don't give a edited by ddp. Now lets move on me and everyone else are looking for a solution to our problem not for you to try to refer me back to the wiikey website (which I check daily for changes) so marioass if you don't have any worth while information to bring to the table then just leave it alone because we don't need your smart ass comments. So now I ask can someone release some "worth while" information about this update or just try to guide us in the right direction? This time I want to speak with someone who knows what they are talking about and not waste my time with some worthless information... (Look up at marioass's comment to totally understand where I'm coming from) Hahaha! Man please if you post another comment make it worth my while.

so tootz, thats why you get the link back because in the download section says coming soon.....thats for 2 years now.....so if you follow the link than admit is was helpfull....., i can say there is no update, if you realy want to play for now the only gam new mario, than you need to homebrew to make it work, there is no update available for the wiikey 2....for now, and don't blame another, if you made the mistake yourself.

MarioAss, there is no mistake. Some people prefer hard mods. I can't say that softmod is way to go. Temporarily has some minimal benefit over hardmod, but generaly is quite risky approach. It's matter of preference. Hopefully wiikey fusion will solve all problems by converging both approaches in one product. Soon available in NL. So, I wish a good hunt to everyone.

Just a quick note about chips. Drivekey is the only hardmod who have published that they have solved the issue with NSMB. All new chips sold after 30 December can play games with the new protection from nintendo, Avatar also has this new protection and can be played with the new chip. I have both a Wiikey and Drivekey in consoles I own. These chips are updatable by disc but to solve the issue I have read that you would need to reprogram the chip itself with a jtag programmer. All chip companies are busy trying to solve this issue without the use of a jta programmer( as it will cost about $40 just for this device). It is hoped, but it seems unlikly the fix will ever be released on an update by disc.
