I have a sofmodded Wii now i want to buy a new one for my niece but I heard that the new Wii cant read back ups,is that true?

new ones will require use of an external hdd; you might luck into old stock but it's a very slim possibility

ALL wii's can be softmodded. it's only the newest ones that cannot use backup discs.

but that's where usb loaders come in. ALL wii's can use usb loaders.
