My wife and I just bought a Wii this past weekend and I knew we had to pick up Mario Kart. What other games are worth it to check out? They can be old or new, any kind of genre. We just don't know much about Wii games and which ones are good.

Me and my son love the Lego Star Wars game and The Mario games I.E. New Super Mario, Super Mario Galaxy 1&2. Both great adventure Games. Ow and if you want to be a rock star Guitar/Band Hero or Rock Band 2. If you get into these music games via the wii Start with the Guitar hero Branded games. They have the best compatibility with Rock Band 2 or greater. Drums/Guitars
Finally what I tell my friends is rent first. There are alot of games that are flunkies or only can hold your attention for a day or two. I have a library full of game with little play time and with no hope of ever being loaded again.
The only thing about the Mario Galaxy games is they are one person games. They tried to include a second player but the second Player is Boring at best. Good for your 2-5 year old to play with you. The New Super Mario does a good job including up to 4 players. As for the Rock/Music game It is good if you all play equally as bad/good. and with the newer Band Hero you can all play guitar if you wish. With the original game there was one Guitar, One Base, One Drummer, and one person got stuck singing. Finally with the Lego Star wars and other Lego Adventure game Two Player Mode in many places is a must and the two of you need to get along and solve the puzzles together.
The biggest thing is to Rent/Barrow before you Buy. And when possible Buy used they don't ware out only get damaged. A good used game retailer will warranty for that. And If you are worried about damaging your own games (Do you have kids?) then a Hack maybe in your future to play your games Via a USB Drive or DVD-R. On my 366 day of owning my Wii the USB drive when on my Wii right after the factory warranty expired. I wish I would have don't it sooner. I only had to replace two of my game that year.
I agree.
Look at Gamespot, read the reviews and see what you like.
I love Mario Kart, Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, Super Smash Bros Brawl and World of Goo.
You definitely want to try Super Smash Bros Brawl, or the Mario & Sonic Olympic/ Olympic Winter Games.
Super Smash Bros Brawl is extremely fun, you don't have to be a nintendo fan, you won't even recognize some characters, but some you will. There is the classic brawl mode as well as a adventure mode with a storyline, a first for any smash bros game, among other things.
If you are new to the Super Smash Bros universe, this is definitely one you want to try out.
Thanks for all the suggestions! I loved Super Smash Bros on N64 so that's definitely one we're gonna have to get. There's a place here in Abilene that lets you try the games before they come out so we'll definitely head over there and check out the games. Thanks again for the help! =)
