I hate to sound like a newbie, but I want to make sure I don't screw up my Wii. I've got a USA Wii running 4.1U with HomeBrew Channel installed and working correctly, along with DVDx.

I'm not afraid to follow directions, but I'm a bit confused about the directions listed. I'm a tech guy, so I'm not afraid to install software, etc. (I've got a hacked PSP as well).

Do I need to downgrade my firmware first, or is there a way to do this more easily ?

You can skip things you've already done, like installing HBC.

This is where I'm getting confused (see below). If I already have HBC channel installed, do I need to continue with the rest ? Does a "softmodded" mean that HBC is installed ?

Things you need:
Softmodded Wii with cIOS36_rev7 or higher (if your Wii is not softmodded go HERE and follow this guide).

Basically I need to start with the "DOWNGRADE IOS35" (since I've got HBC installed) ?
