Hi, i think, well im failry sure i have bricked my palwii, wii has mod chip, cyclo wiz, but i havent updated it as the swithc was never installed.
to play latest games i have softmodded following the guides on here, and it has been working fine. tried to install usb loader, all installed well, but i couldnt get it to detect usb, stupidly started playing about with re-installing wad files (i really didint know what i was doing and should have known better) but have resulted in screen on start up of wii saying system files are corrupt
i didint do the backup part as i couldnt get that to work, does anyone think i can salvage this wii, i have read somewhere that if you have a mod chip installed maybe i cant get out of this mess i caused
Try holding down the reset button and pressing the power button to start up. If you installed preloader0.29 then this will kick your wii into maintenance mode. From there you can force it into the wii menu. Check to see how many blocks free you have. Remove the recent wads through the data management option. Once you have say 300 blocks free, reinstall or update your wii version to correct the corrupted system files.
Cheers for that, it was as simple as me not pressing the reset button quicky enough on start up (i think in was a case of too much panic at bricking the wii!!)
launched pre-loader, forced to homebrew channel and re-ran the pre-loader and all is back working fine.
