Anyone got it to run off the dvd?
I managed to get the update off wiikey website, ran the update, managed to update it to V1.3 and still it don't run the game.
Does this mean that my update is wrong or the update still do not allow playing of NSMB?

OK, i extracted the ISO file from the wiikey file. 1.3+GB, burnt to a DVD using imgburn.
Updated the wiikey to V1.3
Same for NSMB, burnt it @ 4X to a DVD+R media, press start on the disc channel and i get the error asking me to eject the disc and turn off the console.
BTW, how do i check if the img i got is NTSC or PAL?
Can a PAL game work on a hard chipped wii?

Ok well you probably have better luck burning it using DVD-R media - link
If your Wii has System Menu 4.2, then you can't play other regions with your modchip, unless its softmodded and you use a backup loader
Use Wii Brickblocker to open the ISO image, click on read info too tell you the region.
You are better off to stick with your own region on the wii in my opinion.

Yes that is why. You should get the NTSC NSMB and it will work fine.

New Super Mario Bros Wii uses IOS53 v5406 and has update System Menu 4.1
You don't say what system menu you have at the moment.
But if you only have the Wiikey 2 installed and no softmods, then you should be fine to do the game update if it asks.
I can't remember back if it did or not.
If you would rather just patch the ISO , then read Post #1 and Post #2 of this link

Well nothing wrong with 3.2 lol.
Yeah softmodding the Wii allows you to use Homebrew, and running other types of backup loaders etc.

No you don't have to lose them.
Just patch the ISO with the link I gave you in Post #8
Then you can just stay on 3.2 System Menu if you want. Lots of people just stay on that if everything you want is working for you.
If you do want to upgrade to either 4.1 or 4.2 and keep homebrew, then follow one of the guides in this link
http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-faqs-guides-tutorials-only/
Make sure though to read it thoroughly first.
