What do i need to do.
If you do not have the Wii Motion Plus Hardware the game will not boot.
If you got Wii Motion Plus Hardware then follow the below steps.
Enable #002 fix in settings before launching the game.
Enable boot alt_dol (follow the below steps on using an alt_dol file).

To get the alt_dol you will need to load the ISO into Wii Scruber and then go to...

Partion2-DATA> sys> mpls_movie> and save player.dol

After you save player.dol rename it to RZTP.dol and place it in the root of the SD Card.

After you watch the movie and play the game for the first time you can then disable the boot alternate.dol file but keep the #002 error enabled.
I dont see this boot alternate.dol and #002 error parameters setting on my USB loader Gx? I already unlock it but i dont see such parameter in the disc settings? My loader is on REV453M and using the forwarder version. do I need to update to the latest Rev? how to update it manually?

I'm looking for some guides to load Wii Ware wads on a 4GB USB. I got about 100 wads from a torrent. Is this the guide I should follow? I've softmodded using UBER's guide and upgraded to 4.1 and added IOS60PATCHED.WAD. I have the HBC.

Are playing these wads in this way possible? I only see these guides referring to disc game backups but I'm comfortable using DVD-R for those. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

@ronnie917

Update to latest version. Read the guide to find out how to download the latest version.

@Hedberg

At this time there is no way to load VC/WiiWare games directly from WAD files. Soon very soon this should change.

Untill that time comes you will need to install the VC/WiiWare games to the system them MOVE them to an SD card.

So can I do this with my USB and HBC to install the VC/WW games? Or do I need to put the wads I want to play on a SD card so I can install them from HBC?

Sorry for bugging, It's just hard for me to tell which is the latest, safest, and best way to work these from search results. Thanks for your help larrylje.

This is for USB loader. Please ask your VC/Wiiware questions in your own thread.

@larrylje, i upgraded my loader using the update function in the loader and it work fine.
after upgrading i had to enable #002 error for some of the game to load.
i enabled the #002 error on the main/global setting but this does not work as i still get the error.
the only solution is to enable the #002 error on the disc settings.
Is this normal or a bug in the latest dol?

for the wii sport resorts, i followed your instruction but i was prompted that I dont have "RZTP01.dol" after selecting the game.
I have the RZTP.dol in the root of my SD card. I tried renaming it to RZTP01.dol but still does not work.

TIA

I myself am having trouble with USB Loader GX rev674M and cIOS38_rev14. Getting code dumps for all games now that I've upgraded both. I just used my .nand backup to revert back to cIOS38_rev13a and USB Loader GX rev641M which was working fine.

Anyone else having issues with ciOS14?

...................

Just did a nand backup. USB loader doesn't recognize previous cios38rev13 - only hermes 222/223 so i redid the complete softmod again to be sure. then i deleted all of the files under the sd card root/config folder (basically the GXGlobal.cfg files).

Am completely back to the way I was before except that USB Loader GX is now on version 674m and I can't seem to downgrade, and of course, it still does not work now. It either code dumps or takes me back to homebrew when a game starts up.

Got a super old version of USB Loader GX from the beginning of this thread and it works again.

Then tried upgrading back to rev674 again and the entire.dol file went missing after it said it completed! Put the old .dol in and reran the upgrade and it upgraded correctly this time.

But still nothing but code dumps, black screen, or return to homebrew app when starting a game.

I think there is a problem with 674 and I don't recommend upgrading until there is a later revision.

I had exactly the same problem. I changed the dol file to read RZTP01.dol. Still nothing. I rebooted, took all settings back to default and tried again, nothing. I then rebooted, made the change to the settings and everything works fine now. Make sure you have the Motion Plus thingo attached otherwise it won't work.

Confirmed. The USB Loader GX website forums have numerous users reporting issues with version 660-674 causing black screens, code dumps and returning to the homebrew menu. Has nothing to do with cIOS38_rev14. Has anyone been able to successfully upgrade to USB Loader GX rev 674 and still play backups?

You can USB loader GX v674 and it works or are you using an earlier version? Please clarify. Earlier versions work fine, I just can't get games to work with 674, which as of this afternoon was the last update.

As for rockband, you need Hermes 222/223 installed, both with revision 37 merged with 36 via 249. And you must make sure that for that disc you have 222 selected for the IOS. If done properly all instruments will work and you do not need the microphone plugged in. I can play it just fine with only the guitar.

under settings scroll to the right (same page you would setup custom paths) and look for the star. Click on the star and the top right will display the current USB Loader GX version and your ciOS version.

GBA Temp has rev682 out now and if finally fixed all of my code dump problems that had been reoccurring through many of the latest releases. It's not available from the update option in USB Loader GX yet (674M is the most current as of right now). Hopefully they replace it with 682 soon so everyone can get it easily. For now though, check out GBA (don't think I'm allowed to post the link here).

My Setup:
4.1u
cIOS38_rev14
Preloader .29
Bootmii Boot 2
Older hermes cIOS 222/223 (both using 249 option 37 merged with 36 USB LOADER GX Rev682
Video Mode: Force NTSC
VIDTV Patch: On
Game Language Console Default
Patch Country Strins: On
Ocarina: off
Boot/Standard: 249 (games with peripherals like rockband are manually set to 222 since I have hermes cios installed for instrument support)
Quick Boot: No
Error 002 fix: Yes

I followed the softmod thread. Seemed to work fine.
I then followed the USB Loader thread (This thread) -- looked good.

I had an old external USB drive that wouldn't be recognized, so I bought a new $30 Vantec enclosure. It's now recognized.
(Formatted with the special format sauce, used the special loader to put a few ISO's on.)

My problem is that some games seem to lock up after a minute of play ( Mario Sluggers, Super Smash Bros Brawl.)

Lego Star Wars plays fine for hours.

Each of these have been previously burnt to disc and they run fine off disc.

Suggestions?

FYI, a new version was downloaded today and I'm having MUCH better success.

i.e., Punchout and Super Smash Bros are working without crashing or me fiddling with settings.

yes, get the latest version. previous versions (640-674) were causing trouble for several users - some worked, some didn't. When I left the house today the automatic update was still pointing to r674. However, GBAtemp forums had posted rev682 for manual download. I grabbed a copy and it was working perfectly again for all games.

Check the automatick updates to see what revision is available - if it's 682 or later then get it through the update. If it's still on r674 then go to GBAtemp (google it) and download it from them.

I didn't pay attention to the new version that came out today, but it seems to have broken everything again.

Darn it... I knew I should not have updated!!!

With the WBFS Manager, what's the difference between RTW x86 and RTW x64? How do I know which 1 I need, or does it even matter?

This relates to the type of processor you have. x86 relates to 32 bit processors and x64 relates to 64 bit processors. You can determine which processor you have by viewing 'System Information' in Windows.

I am having some problems with USBLoader gx.
Some games work fine eg Big Beach Sports (PAL) but I when I try to load Mario Kart (PAL) RMCP01 the Wii locks up with a black screen.
I installed version 453M which came with the softpack this works with some games but there is no #002 error setting in this version. When I load the new rev 663 my USB stick is not recognised until it is removed and replaced, the internet network connection is rarely recognised and all the games I have loaded are shown with the same name! I have just downloaded version 682 and this also locks up th Wii and lists all games on the USB stick with the same name. I have checked the Game Compatibility list for Mario Kart and all should be well if I can get a working USB Loader File. I am very frustrated can anyone please help?
