I have done a couple of these with pretty much no issue until yesterday. My friend had a wii that already had the homebrew channel on it . it was an older version. Let me say before I started he could insert real games into the drive and it would work. He had an older version of Homebrew channel so I decided to just basically start over using Larry's guide. Everything went fine except games will not load now in the drive. USBLOADERGX and any other loader works fine.. It wil install backups to the hard drive just fine. But it will not read any discs in the drive without these loaders. What did I do wrong? Also I am not able to get any apps to run from the hard drive. It never sees any. Homebrew browser gives error about not being able to mount the usb drive. Dvd's and music cd will not load in mplayer. Says disk not recognized.. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated. Would like to run wii flow or usbloadergx from the hard drive along with a media player of some kind. Anyhelp would be appreciated. thanks..

you have like 5 threads dude, post all your issues in one thread and change the title of it if you have too. 2nd you need to be more clearer and post your wii system specs including region. People reading a giant block of paragraph will not help you.

DVDs/Some backups will not work if you do not install DVDX (Makes DVD Video Playback possible via MPlayer). Did you install it? Do your backup game discs work on a loader like NeoGamma? Do you have cIOS installed?

all that is installed. IS it a correct assumption that some of the newer wii's this will not work? This wii was bouth at christmas last year.. I have installed dvdx along with several of the media players and all say invalid disk. On the other unit it will not play originals or backups straight from the disk but will play and also install from the loader. thanks

All Wiis present and past are mod-able . Although newer models do not play burned dvd games (backups) but all should play originals .

What RastaDave said is correct, so your best option is to either play from USB or use Originals.
