Hey everyone, I've been running backups through my 320 gig external hard drive (vantec nexstar nst-350u2) for the past year. I'm on system menu 4.2 and everything has been just fine until a couple of days ago. I added the game No More Heroes (NTSC) to my wii and realized that out of the 280 gig wbfs partition, I only had 30 gigs of free space left. This shouldn't cause any problems right? Well, ever since I added that game, every game that I run (cIOS rev 17 with USB Loader GX r921 or Configurable USB Loader) freezes after around two minutes of play. Since then I have deleted the game, but things won't go back to the way they were. From what I have researched, I assume it is a HDD compatibility issue, despite what the compatibility list says on gbatemp. Because I'm going to buy a 1TB external, I'm wondering if someone could 1.) tell me if they agree that it is a compatibility issue with the hard drive I already own 2.) suggest a good 1TB external hard drive (I'm leaning towards the Western Digital My Book Essential Edition)

1) I use the WD Essentials Passport 1TB - works great, but be careful with the lead it is a propriatory plug and is fragile.

2) It sounds like a spindown issue, when you get your new hard drive use Fat32 - it is more stable than WBFS, it must run on 222v4 as the main game load

you should switch to cIOSX_rev19 and hermes 222/223v5.1. if the problem occurs, it could be the enclosure; the vantec nexstar sx 2.5 didn't work for me, but the cx 2.5 and the ams venus 2.5 works just fine. also, there is no problems with my games being strictly on a WBFS partition.

if you want a 1TB, you're better off building one. a WD caviar black paired with the vantec nexstar CX 3.5 is what i would recommend.

Do this and GX will not work!

He says he is using GX loader this does not support the upgrades as yet so he should use 222v4
