Goal: Interested in installing priiloader and bootmii.

Below are the details of where I started and my current configuration.

--virgin Wii, on 2.2u
--Ran MarioKart - system at 3.1u
--wii softmodded by 3rd party
--HBC, USB loader and neogamma7 installed - all working fine

After getting the wii and inspecting, noticed the following were not installed:

--bootmi
--priiloader

After research, noted that priiloader needs at least 3.2u and above, which explains why priiloader was not installed when the softmodding took place.

--Yesterday, using wiifit disk, updated system to 3.3u
--Tested softmod, all the current games operating as expected
--In addition, installed latest USBLoader GX - everything tests good

Next steps:

--Interested in installing priiloader and bootmii.
Priiloader: To have the safety net of a brickblocker.
Bootmii: Unclear why it is needed but it appears I should have it.

There is an excellent guide by Larry that details the entire steps. What would be recommended at this is a piece meal activity.

Please advice

Preloader/Priiloader hacks.ini files will only work on firmware versions 3.2/4.0/4.1/4.2 so you will again need to change the firmware.

You will need to have the proper hacks file that correspond with your firmware version and region system. The hacks.ini can be found HERE. It should be named hacks.ini (just use a notepad to copy the hacks into it then save naming it hacks.ini) and place it at the root of the SD card.

Place the Preloader/Priiloader boot.dol file in its own folder then add that to the apps folder on SD card so you can load it with Homebrew Channel.

For Bootmii download the Hackmii installer and place the boot.elf file in its own folder then add that to the apps folder on SD card so you can load it with Homebrew Channel.
