Problem softmodding 3.4u wii

Hi All
I have modded loads of wii's for friends and family with great success. Thanks to Larryle guide.
My problem now is i have gone to canada (holiday) and i have been trying to soft mod my sisters wii 3.4u. But when i put the sd card into the wii it doesnt seem to reckognize the softmod guide installed on the card. It just comes up with how many blocks open. Can somebody tell me where am i going wrong on this one as my nephews are driving me mad. Should i try and install the 4.1 or 4.2. Any help would be much appreciated.
