punch out wii on dl

Ok so I have some Phillips dvd-r trying to burn an iso of punch out and keeps coming up with error.
so i tried a verbatim dvd -r dl and it comes up with the warning screen for the wii about having space when you play, then it goes to the game disc could not be read.
Do dl disk not work on the wii? or is there something i can do?

im guessing the Phillips would not work because its not a good media?

What chip or softmod program are you using to play the game - the Wii does not read copied discs without some form of mod

Use verbatim DVD-R, Dual layer discs are only used for Super Smash Bros Brawl & Metroid Prime Trilogy.

i have it soft moded lol
i figured that it would take some kind of mod lol
with homebrew with neogamma also

I was reading that i should try and install the ios60patched.wad and the cios38_rev13b
should i try that?

You really shouldn't mess with IOS if you do not know what you are doing. IOS 60 is extremely dangerous, it can brick if you re-install it. Try using some verbatim dvd-r, like I said, or use USB Loader. Another theory is that the game requires an update. What firmware are you on?

you are on 4.2 then ios60 is not used (this is system firmware 4.0 & 4.1) so do not install this!

the other cios38 is the one that installs at 249

So no do not install any ios.wad's

Try the discs the Wii is very fussy about what it will load, does neogamma give you an error code when it fails to load?

Well I found a empty sony disc and i tryed that and it works. thanks for all of your help and stopping me from doing something bad
