I recently purchased a wii from someone that was modded. Well as I don't want it modded I was wondering if there was a way to make it normal? Can I just do a system update? I believe the firmware version is 4.1U. It looks like it has the homebrew channel on there and a gamma loader. Any help is appreciated. Mind you I am completely ignorant when it comes to this so please don't flame me too bad. I really just want to play my games and not worry if my system will get bricked. Thanks again in advance.

If it isn't in the way then just leave it be, play your games and update as an when you want. Updates won't brick it but they may disable the homebrew.

Homebrew channel can be removed by merely deleting the channel in your wii settings.

The only real danger is updating from an out of region disc..i.e an American Wii using a English disc etc.

You're wii isn't going to magically brick itself just cause its modded. You have to be the one to brick it and you have to actually perform an update from an out of region disc to do that so just leave it alone and enjoy it.
