I am new to nintendo wii and the whole nintendo wii modding scene. Im looking for some sound advice. What is the best way to mod the system? Also what disk are the best for making backup copies? I am currently using a wii emulator but alot of the games dont work on the cpu, that and i would like to use alot of the peripherals.

1. Softmodding is the best way. Look at the stickies.
2. Verbatim DVD-Rs (Made in Singapore) are the best, but I prefer to use USB Loader GX.

So yeah, that should answer your questions.

Thaank you so much i also read there are diferent methods to modding based on the drive/firmware of the nintendo wii. If this is true how do I determine this? Also where can I get some info about USB Loader Gx? And will softmodding hae any negative affects on gameplay or the network channel or issues with peripherals?

Thanks alot you guys. im buying the kiddies a wii for xmas. I have an general idea on how to softmod after watching a video on youtube. My only issue is with just getting one will i be able to softmod. I only ask beecause im assuming the newer wii models will be version 4.2. Also i read that you copy games, save them on an external HDD and load games from there. Is there any truth in this and if so is there a guide here explaining this?

Hey Nehpets30... I bought my Wii from Dell 2 weeks ago and came with 4.0U. The 4.2 update came out recently so I'm assuming there are plenty out there right with this system menu installed.

Yes, there is a way to play games off a hdd. There are many programs to choose from but I opted to go with USB Loader GX. I went with this one because of the user friendliness. Make sure the hdd is compatible before you go out buying anything.

Good luck and educate yourself first before you do anything.

Thnx alot I know im asking a ton of questions but im really in the dark about the wii scene. I saw you mentioned you can use a external HDD. But I need to make sure its compatible. How do I determine this? Also in the tutorial I saw the wii must be connected to the internet. I have a home network(due to having a home based business) Can I connect the wii to the internet wireless through my home router?
