Can scratched DVD's screw up the laser in a Wii? What about printed DVD labels (maybe not to the laser, but the wii itself)? Thanks for any info.

Printable DVD's are fine.

But Printable labels stuck on DVD's is a bad idea becuase....

1) It can cause unbalance to the disc which can cause read errors.

2) Some label adhesive material can be toxic to the DVD's and degrade the DVD quicker.

3) If the DVD heats up from the Wii System the adhesive on the back of the label could heat up and you could possibly have the label peel off inside the drive when ejecting the disc from the Wii.

As for scratches on a DVD. More then likely you would get a read error if the disc was scratched that bad. So I would say no it wouldn't harm the laser.
