having confirmed i have the black Wii with 4.1e and most likely the D3-2 drive, i need to revert to USB loading of my backups.
My question is, do i need to format the USB HDD in a specific way that only the Wii could access it? I mean, i already need a HDD to store my personal files off my PC. Therefore, i prefer buying a 1TB HDD and use it for both running the Wii backups aswell as storing the files off my PC. (i know i'd have to switch the usb cable from PC to Wii depending on what i was using it for each time). But will this idea work?
or will i need a HDD for the Wii and a separate HDD for my files?
If you're using the newest version of the configurable usb loader then you shouldnt have to reformat it as it can read NTFS partitions so long as all the homebrew files are on your SD card.
Just convert your games to .wbfs files and put them in a wbfs folder in the root directory of the hard drive.
One other thing though, you say keep the homebrew files on the SD Card. I already installed homebrew, neo gamma, etc foloing the Softmod tutorial in this forum by Larrylje.
Baring this in mind, do you mean i will need to remove all this to use USB loader?
And most importantly, will i need to always have the SD card in the slot to be able to use USB loader and backups? I thought the SD card was only required for the initial install then not required.
