Hey guys... I havent been on here in while (around a year ago) But I have learned so much and recieved so much help from Afterdawn in the past its crazy. Anyway Last November-December I followed a tutorial that softmodded my wii using the Bannerbomb exploit on 2.4U. It also installed priloader (i think thats its name) which loads before the wii menu and you can control it using the buttons on your wii. I also created a backup of the nand just in case. Anyway I also followed extra steps in the tutorial installing wads and cios. I honestly don't remeber. But with the extra steps I was able to play games right off of the wii main menu. instead of using neos backuploader (also installed to wii). Well a few months ago my lil bro installed an update and we lost the play from menu functionality :/ i was mad but got over it. Well after playing a newish game it updated again and we lost the ability to play backups.... right now i still have HBC installed (i can start it up but no apps installed) is there anwyay to remod my wii back to the way i had it in the first place to just play games off of the disc channel. and if at all possible anyway to not allow these updates to mess with it agian? thank you and any help would be soo soo much appreciated.

Well, what firmware are you on now? I don't think updates can stop you from playing backups, only hardware upgrades can do that. When you said you softmodded it the first time, did you mean 2.4U & not really 4.2?

no... it had 4.2u on it.. but i think in game updates and shop channel updates restubbed im ios... i was up till like 4 am but finally figured it out. i installed darkcorp 1.0 full and used the virgin wii option... and long and behold it worked!!! thanks for the help anyway tho!
