I have been reading that with wiikey version 1 and playing a retail copy of new super mario bros the game will force an update of 4.2u. The problem is that after this update some backed up copies of older games such as mario kart and super mario galaxy will not work anymore.

Can anyone confirm this?

Even though there is a work around it seems that all future nintendo games will have some kind of protection.

Seems like a purchase for another system just to play certain games might be necessary so the wiikey system wont be altered with the update.
