Retail New Super Mario Bros Wii NSMB not loading in softmod wii

Bought a retail NSMB for my son but when I try to load it using the original disc channel it just goes to black screen. Have preloader installed (.29) so disabled the 'Skip Update Check'. Now the disc channel shows 'Update Required' or something similar.

Not doing the update as I can load it using Neogamma R4 but has anyone else seen this and is there a work around?? Better yet, does anyone know if the update will work or brick??

Running Softmod 4.1E with bootmii and preloader.29.

i also can not play nsmb retail version on my softmod 4.1e wii, i have read alot of stuff tonight about it, but it all is over my head, i dont have neogamma and i would like to know the absolute best way to get this game to work, and preferably the easiest way hope someone can help thanks....

Done a lot of checking/reading and couldn't find any answer to my question. Decided to bite the bullet and upgrade everything. Used Pimp-My-Wii (Google it and you'll find it - ver1.31 I think) and let it do what it wanted. Now NSMB is working from the original disc channel with no problems. As always, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
