So I recently discovered that I can't get into my Wii settings menu. It gives me the same error that this guy got last year - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/690024 - I think it's from updating from my NSMB backup. My wii is only hardmodded with a wiiKey. Any ideas?
Did you make sure that when you did the update you were using a disc of the same region as your console? I only ask because the NSMB Iso's Im seeing out there are primarily PAL and if you used a PAL update on an NTSC I belive theres a fix out there for that..
also one last thing if that isnt the case My suggestion would to be to try and softmod the system as when loading the cIos they include allot of system features that could possibly reload, don;t worry I have a wiikey in my system as well have it softmodded it dosent cause any troubles and worth a shot as it appears you have nothing to lose
hey, thanks for the response. I believe it was probably a PAL version. How would I fix this? I'm still iffy on softmodding, but if it'll fix the semi-brick I may consider it
Well, the old semi-brick-fix disks stopped working ages ago. There probably is some homebrew somewhere that can do the job, but I haven't seen it. Semi-bricking is pretty uncommon now since most people have softmods and even most people with modchips have homebrew.
Just out of curiosity, after softmodding with the 4.2 guide, would it be wise to update the console with the NTSC version of NSMB? Will that fix my semi-brick? Or will it make things worse since I already softmodded the console???
