ok so heres what happened.
-My lil bros were playing Bully: Scholarship Edition and then they turned it off and went outside.
-they came back some unknown time later to find the wii wasnt turning on and the disk wasn't ejecting.

the symptoms of my wii were the little STANDBYE (red) LED was lit but upon clicking the power button (and the reset button) the wii made but a faint clicking noise and didn't turn on.

i took it to the mod shop and they took it for a while and i had to pay them a non-rufundable $40. they called today with the news. a part of the motherboard (thats what he said) had short circuited and needed to be replaced. he didnt have and motherboards lying around so i would have to wait a few days AND it was gonna cost me an extra $200 to replace it.
my questions are as follows:
1. when i buy a new wii mother board will i need to get the board re-modded and if so can i salvage the old modchip?
2. will this wipe all of my data completely and if so is there a way to get it back?
3. how much is a new one online? (link would be kewl)
4. is it hard to install it myself (kinda newbie at this) or should i get a professional to do it?
5. my wii was part of the like errr...first batch af wii's to come out 2 years ago. what type of board will i need to get?

if you guys can answer any questions would be much apprecited!

Wii's can be bought off Craigslist for 130 dollars or less often around here, why would you pay 200 to get an old one repaired?
