Soft Mod Wii and Netflix

I have a 4.1u softmodded Wii but when I try and use the Netflix streaming disc it wants to perform an update (which I did not do). Does anyone know if I have to update to 4.3 or can I just go as far as 4.2? I'm happy leaving things alone and using my game console to just play games but streaming Netflix would be a bonus!

P.S. I downloaded Larry's 4.2 guide from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TJLR6QVT but I get an error when I try to extract it using WinRar.

Do you have to have a netfilx account before you use this or is there a option to sign up when you load this ?

I already have a Netflix account and can already stream movies on my PC. I just want the disc to work so I can stream Netflix in another room (yes I am a spoiled brat!).
I tried burning the ISO that Sutran linked to DVD-R but couldn't launch it. I've since found the NetflixWii.wad to install the channel (HERE- http://www.mediafire.com/?wzz3lfzin2g) so I might go through Wad Manager etc. (once I dust the cobwebs from my brain!) and just install the channel rather than try and use a disc or stick. I'm still open to suggestions though :/

did you try with neogamma? it worked for me although I use uloader so i dont wear the lens out

I did use NeoGamma but it came up with a disc error. I used ImgBurn but could be a bad burn. I used my last blank disc so I can't re-do the disc until I go shopping! I'll keep you up to date with my progress.....

I burned the patched ISO and it worked using neogamma to launch. Good to know that installing the .wad works. I think I will use that method to save swapping discs. Did you use the sd card/wad manager to install the channel?

yes I put it in the SD card.
Its better so you dont need to swap dics as you said.
By the way ...I dont know if you know this but with uloader you can back up games in the HDD (back up and originals)

OK - so I have Netflix running using the patched disc and decided to install the Netflix channel. With the Netflix channel installed I get an error saying failed to initialise sd/usb. What have I missed? I'm sure it's something obvious!

I successfully downloaded wad manager and the netflix wad. the netflix logo comes up on my wii, but I still don't have the activation code that came on the activation disc from netflix because I never got past the first screen (requesting me to upgrade, which I did not do). How do I get my activation code?

For those of you looking to get he Netflix channel onto your Wii but don't want to bother with USB keys, here is a quick fix.
Download this Zip.
link
You will add the usbloader in the apps folder to your apps directory on your SD Card.
Install the Netflix channel using the wad file.
and place the wbfs folder from the zip file to the root of your SD Card.
And your Done!
No need for a Netflix DVD or a USB key. It loads quicker than any other method in my opinion and was the easiest to get working. Also easier for kids or girlfriends to use.
Enjoy watching movies.

tried both wads and neither worked?
second one gives me a warning about no ios 122 or something like that?
is there a way to add netflix safely as a wad,
softmodded and also have wiikey installed

I have 236 and 222 installed. wad placed Netflix red window on screen. When I press to open it goes to a black screen. Wish I knew what I did wrong..

Netflix now has a channel on the wii shopping channel IDK if they will work for you

If you don't want to update your wii but still want to be able to access the shopping channel goto this link. link

Hey, Slider1, Where do you get the wad file for the Netflix Channel? I got the zip you reccomended, now what? Thanks for your help, mate. btw, I already have usb loader ciosxr19installer, dopMii(v12). I really need help with this.
