try to play backups on wii and backup i got with it goes to load in but then stops n says read error 1167. tried burning iso backups with imgburn n when tries to load disc it comes up the same. am i loading it right

How old is the system?

If it is fairly recent Wii then it will not play backup disc. Nintendo has newer drives that block disc backups from playing. The only option if you have 1 of these DVD drives is to use a USB loader.
