Softmodding a hardmodded wii with modmii

Hi, I have a hardmodded wii with Wiikey 1 that is currently on 2.2 firmware. I've even told to softmod with modmii so that I can play new games as well as my old backup games. Just wondering if this is all I have to do or if I still need to upgrade my wiikey? I just want to be able to play new games because right now I can only play games from 2008 and under.

Just follow step by step on how to softmod your wii via moddmii.
It should install the latest cIOS it needs.
Later when you want to play some new games, some of them need special some cIOS installed and you will need to look around the internet to install them but most of the games should work.
Homebrew might do an update once you run it, just go ahead and let it.
Also MOST IMPORTANT!!!!
INSTALL BOOTMII2 AND PRIILOADER IF YOU CAN.
BOOTMII2 will help you get back your wii to how it was if you accidentally semi brick it and priiloader is to prevent your wii updating automatically amongst other useful things.

Follow the moddmii steps and it will ask you and show you how to install them.
