My 4.2 Wii is hardmodded (D2CPro) and now I softmodded it.

I transferred all my disk B/U to USB and they all work fine except Mario Kart. This gives me a black screen needing a reset.

Is this a sign of a conflict between softmod and hardmod for this game??

Has anyone had this experience??

There's no such thing as a conflict between a hard and soft mod. The softmod functions through the wii motherboard firmware and the modchip effects only the DVD drive.

Most likely made a bad rip of the game. Re-rip the disk.

Looks like my thinking was flawed :~.

However the same rip works OK via the disk channel. ??
Still its not a big issue. I just like to investigate problems like this.

actually the same problem happens to me, only mario kart. Weird. I hate little issues like this, they gnaw away at me. :-)

Hi

I'm reading your post with interest.

Did you use Larrys guide to mod the Wii. I am asking because I modded my 4.2Wii just before Larry published his guide and I used xzero's guide from this forum. The main difference I can see is that the guide I followed lacks the DOP-IOS step (which I can't seem to get working ?WiFi issue).

I can also confirm the same issue with Mario Kart happens on a Wii I soft modded with the "pre-Larry" guide for 4.2 on a new Wii which is not hard modded.

actually mines a lot different, mines an original wii, prob within the first month (pal). Its chipped with only the CUL as an addition, so no soft mod. maybe it is just a bad rip out there, again it works in the dvd channel but not through the hdd.
