My hard drive im trying to launch from says it has no free space.
my 500 gb drive has no other files on it except for what is needed to launch wii isos..
I have reformatted and wiped clean and tried twice now with same results.
How do I get downloads on said hard drive and what homebrew app would be best for using em? This whole expirience has humbled me from thinking I was smart enough to navigate the vast amounts of information and do this on my own!

You have probably formatted the hard drive as Fat 32 - an iso is over 4GB and fat does not support this, hence no spare disc space.

Download Wii backup manager and use this to transfer the iso to the drive (puts it in a folder in WBFS format and splits it to less than 4GB)

Question when Wii backup manager transfers the iso to the drive is the entire drive still in FAT32 format?

Or does the destination on that HDD have to be in WBFS format?

Fat32

WBFS is the file format, the program will sort everything out for you!

Wii backup manager converts the ISO file to a WBFS file, not the HDD file system itself. So after it converts the ISO file to a WBFS file, you can drag and drop the WBFS file onto your FAT32/NTFS formatted HDD.
