Unable to Choose cIOS 247

Hi I've been trying to get this to work for ages and have read heaps but still cannot find a simple answer to the issue. I am running 4.0E and have homebrew installed. I have downloaded cIOS38 Rev14 and setup the sd folders as instructed. When I load the installer I cannot select the custom249 option that I presume I need to choose. It jumps from 61 to 254. When I select 254 and pick WAD installation (unable to choose network for a different issue) I receive an error "Reading IOS38-64-V3610.WAD Error". So suspecting I needed that wad file I sourced it and loaded it onto the SD and reran but the same thing happened. So basically I have a few questions
1. Why can't I select ISO249 as an option
2. Why does the WAD manager error out
3. Is this the best available IOS loader for version 4.0e?

Arrrgh please help

I downloaded a Wad Manager 1.5 rar file and pasted it into my SD:/Apps/Wad Manager folder. Is that correct?

No. You need o un-RAR the file. Also, make sure the file is named boot.dol.

Hi,
Im a little lost as I read so many different things everywhere. Is there anywhere I can find a complete step by step guide which lists in order what I need to do?

I have downloaded WAD Manager 1.4 and renamed the .dol to boot.dol. When I load homebrew there is nothing showing. I've placed this file in my root directory and also tried adding to a WAD Manager folder but still nothing happens

I have also downloaded cIOS38 Rev 14. When I load this it allows me select different IOS numbers (not 247 but)

I have also downloaded a Cios247.wad file but I don't even seem to be able to install it due to previously mentioned issue.

Part Success!!! I managed to get the WAD Manager started. Which IOS version should I be choosing?

The next step is to select a source device. I presume that if I want to load wads off my SD card then it should be the Wii SD slot. Will this affect my ability to eventually load ISO files from my USB device or is that setup done within whatever loader wad i choose to install i.e. neogamma?

Appreciate the help.

You select the source ever time you run wadmanager. It's just asking you where to find the wads that you want to install NOW.

Wad manager has nothing to do with loading iso's off your hard drive.

Figured as much. Thanks for confirming. Do you know what ISO version I should be choosing? Not really sure about it as there are versions from 1-64 and an extra 254 one
