Hello, I have applied steps 1-8 (under the USB loader instructions, http://wehackwii.pbworks.com/USB-Loader) to my wii because I wanted to play my own back-up of the game Mario Bros off a DVD and load games from my SD card with the WAD manager. I have not been successful with this. I kept getting the message like, you need unstubbed cIOS 222 v4 or 249 v9. After that, I set up my Wii with my wi-fi network for the first time and it updated my system software to 4.3U. I don't want to continue with modifications because I don't know what I am doing.

I would like to change my Wii back to it's original set up. Does anyone out there know if this is possible? I don't want to have my Wii bricked with any future updates from Nintendo.

I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks in advance to any help anyone can provide.

It didnt work because you skipped steps . You need to install cios249 to load games from you external . Now that you have updated it wiped everything you did most likely (example: bootmii as ios and HomeBrewChannel) . So you should have a virgin Wii at this point .

Thanks for your reply. So how would I remove homebrew safely? It looks like I can just delete the homebrew channel from my Wii settings. Is that all I need to do and my Wii system should be fine?

If you updated like you said homebrew should be gone already . If not i believe you could go into setting and erase the channel .
