OK... A few years back we bought a wii from a friend... it came with several already burned games and the wii sports disk. We were told they had bought it from another friend who was in the military and he *may* have bought it in another country and *may* have gotten it modded in said other country, but they weren't sure when or where, or even if it was here or there. They didn't know if it used Pal, NTSC, they had no clue how to burn the games, they gave me, what it originally came with and said if i wanted anything else i would have to figure it out...
it was 50 bucks and 3 years ago... I wasn't complaining. Mario Party 8 was worth it for my 4 year old;)
I figured out that I had to download PAL games when i was Burning to get them to work... BUT it would play a few NTSC games that were bought. (lego indiana JONES, MARIO KART)
I had burned a few games a few years back, Ninjabread Man, Okami? , SuperSmash Brothers,- ALL PAL-- even got a french version of transformers-- ..
I haven't downloaded anything in a while and now of course nothing I'm sure it has to do with either firmware being outdated or this whole i need to run that patchy brickblocker program?
I REALLY don't want to kill the wii... my daughter might hurt me while i sleep lol... but i would like to try and get new games- BUT i have NO clue if i need PAL/NTSC? If i just need to upgrade?
MY SERIAL IS LU306653801 - and it looks like i've got a higher chance of having a GC2DMS (from 2 diff check your serial sites)
When i go into SYSTEM SETTINGS in the top right it says VER 3.3 and it HAS system updated through the internet (we didn't know it wasn't supposed to) I NOW have the internet disconnected on it.
I'm assuming I have a Wiikey... (one of those check your serial sites said that was the most likely) - but again- thats just a random guess- they seem to be more popular and accessable- and this would have been a few years back...
this would have been at least 4 years ago that it was modded (it came with ultimate alliance 1- and that came out in 06) but i'm not positive... is there anything i can burn and put in my wii that will determine what i'm running?
Can I try to upgrade the WIIKEY firmware without knowing what firmware is in it without screwing it up?
Some of this is like greek to me... I *WILL* understand it... I just need to get a better grasp of what i'm dealing with so i know what i need to be trying to grasp.
