I installed the mplayer channel from the link earlier in this thread and I kept getting a fast scrolling error, I couldn't read it. I installed it as IOS249 with Wad manager. Did I do something wrong?

You need cIOS249rev9 or higher (use cIOS38rev14 it is the newest). Also, try using IOS36 but if that doesn't work, you have a sd card compatibility issue. You can always use the MPlayer Homebrew app, but it will be slower to load & it will need to be on your sd card at all times.

Isn't the cIOS249 or cIOS38rev14 just something that runs off the SD card?

I did run it from an SD card but my whole goal is to have it as a channel and not need the SD card inside. It ran fine from the SD card except for not giving an option to run DVDs but thats not a big deal.

a cIOS must be installed in the wii's NAND. This probably would've been done during softmodding. Are you on 4.1 or 4.2?

I am on 4.1. I just softmodded using this tutorial:

I believe I'm on cIOS38r14. It says something about installing that. If that's the case, I have the newest one and I just need to try to install mplayer on IOS36.

It would help if you could find out what the error was. Also, check some youtube videos some people are loading using different IOS.

I'll try to see if I can catch the error by taking a picture of it and reading it on the computer. It's basically a repeating error scrolling down infinitely very fast.
