Now that I finally do something ahead of time BANG .A guide to update to 4.1 with softmod in place comes out. Which I thought I had a handle on.LMAO Guess not.

Ok heres what I've done ...Updated to 4.1 installed IOS60patch.

And was stuck on wheather I use downgrader or what?

Now i know this gets redundent Larrylje But did i screw it up or can I just switch a few things around all will be well.

If its got tits tires or electronics its gonna give ya problems

Follow the guide and just skip the steps you have already done.

is it ok to install all of the ios listed (i.e no effect to what is already installed) after you have updated.

Thanks.

What do you think? Would I have them listed if it would cause problems?

Well I done it good this time Ollie.

When i try to open Homebrew Channel it goes black then i have to hold power button to turn off.

Hmm cant do much without HB CH .Got an idea though on my memory card now I have your update pack on ...If I put my old stuff back maybe I can get the STEP 1) cIOS38_rev14: to work manually with the setup that was originally on my card instead of using the WIFI way. Whata ya think?

Just uninstall then reinstall homebrew channel.

Should I just uninstall it then use the begining of one of the guides to reinstall HBC.Cause my wad manager doesn't work either I get a ERROR! (ret = -1)Or I would just use one of the old HBC wads.

Uninstall the homebrew channel using normal data mangment>channels. Then use Bannerbomb and hackmii installer v0.3 to reinstall homebrew channel.

As for the ret-1 error for wad manager make sure you have a wad folder at the root of the SD card and place the wad files inside it. The error ret-1 means it can not find any wad files.

This is another example of users not doing research before performing any mods to their system. You should know all of this and how each application works before doing any type of mod to your system.

But ya im just to tired to think .Stupid question . My prob was i was attempting to do one of the old guides then changed my mind at the last min.

Was gonna go with just updating and using the IOS60PATCH n be done with it.

And i saw your new and improved guide here right while i was doin the other thing.

Oh to clearify everything i have my memory card in format to Fat32 your UPDATE PACK installed to the root of the card and it wont even recognize the card well it say its not able to read it i checked it on my comp and all files are well.

If its got tits tires or electronics its gonna give ya problems

This update doesn't support Korean version too? I have the Korean Wii and it works fine and its got hackmii and bootmii and homebrew and gamma and some other stuff but for some odd reason the Mii and Wii shop channels don't work. I keep getting "this channel can't be used".

As far as I know the only way to hack a Korean system is to change the system region to NTSC(U) firmware.

So have a look at your firmware under system settings. If it says something like 4.1U the U=USA. So if your system says U then it has been converted to USA Region. If it says K then it is still Korean.

The reason I exclude Korean systems is because of this reason. I am not going to get into how to change the system firmware for Korean systems.

I've just checked and it is 4.1U.

Sorry I can't see an edit button here. What do I do now? Do I go ahead with your guide now even though it is on 4.1?

The edit button is at the top right hand corner of your post (a piece of paper with a pencil icon).

As to your question. I have no idea if it is safe or not. I would think since it is converted over that it would be safe to follow the guide but I am not 100% positive.

Ok Thanks mate I'll try it and hopefully it works. Thing is though is that you mention updating to 4.1 firmware in step 2. Since I am already on firmware 4.1 is it ok to do step 1 then ignore step 2? Or do I have to delete the updated firmware (if thats possible even)?

yes you can skip the update since it is already updated.

If you haven't updated to the latest cIOS36_rev14 yet and try that step first and get an error then follow the DOP-IOS section first then go back and try the cIOS38_rev14 step.
