update wii from 3.1u offline to best firmware and keep hacks

wanted to know how to upgrade my wii from 3.1u to the best one out there and keep all my hacks or should i just keep my current firmware. i have no wifi so i need all the offline stuff. also wanted to upgrade because i get the error #202 when trying to play resident evil the darkside chronicles from usb loader. don't know if by upgrading i'll get rid of this problem.

Waninkoko has a 4.0 updater out there that will update you to 4.0u and leave all the vulnerable ios files in tact. 4.0u gives you SDHC card support along with the ability to copy wad files or VC/WiiWare games to the SD card.

You can probably fix the error in usb loader by just searching for the latest version and then installing it via homebrew channel > wad manager

I do have wifi and when i got the same error i just used the built in update feature and usb loader updated itself. After that the game played fine.

You might want to update to the latest cIOS if your running a real old one with your current softmod. If you need that check out the guide on the first page of this forum.


not sure if I can post links and sorry to say i am too lazy to check and to careful to just do it without checking so just search for each thing i mentioned via the search at the top of each forum page.

9 times out 10 if you search and read you will find your answer in some other users post.

The best option is to find a place that has WiFi and follow the guide in my sig.

The other way would be allot of extra steps.
